| When I completed the “Drive of Your Life” game, I discovered that my personal style profile was: creative, practical, and structured. The three careers that match my style are: musician, music composer/director/arranger, and graphic designer. From this information I have decided to explore becoming a musician. I selected this job because I enjoy playing music and love to perform in front of other people. One of my daily activities as a musician would be to perform before live audiences. I also have to sight-read musical parts during rehearsals. In addition, I have to audition for orchestras, bands, or other musical groups. To work as a musician, I need to have a high school diploma and plenty of on the job training. I must be good at listening to others and adjusting my actions in relation to other's reactions in order to become a well trained musician. In the United States, the average salary for a musician is $44,179. In the state of Virginia, the average annual salary is $48,235. In the United States by the year 2016, employment for a musician is expected to increase by 10.1%. In the state of Virginia by the year 2016, it is expected to increase by 8.3%. I am looking forward to becoming a musician in the future. |
